UIA 2017 SEOUL CONGRESS ▼

CALL FOR IDEAS POST-HUMAN URBANITY

Registrations are still open for the international ideas competition for students and young designers organized for the 2017 UIA World Congress in Seoul, Korea (3-10 September 2017).

Competitors are asked to express their vision for an organic habitat, in which humans and their urban infrastructure co-exist harmoniously with the natural environment.  Key focus points include post-human diversity, biosynthetic diversity, social sustainability and urban regeneration.

UNESCO-UIA CHARTER 20th ANNIVERSARY

The UIA Education Commission met in Paris on 24 and 25 October 2016. Alongside the working meetings, a reception took place in the UIA Secretariat’s headquarters in Paris to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO-UIA Charter for Educational Education.

Francesco Bandarin, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture was present. On this occasion, Esa Mohamed, UIA President and Fabian Llisterri, Treasurer, presented a new UNESCO-UIA cooperative project.

ARCHITECTURE AND CLIMATE CHANGE PART 2

As part of their consistent commitment to architecture conscious of climatic and environmental factors, the International Union of Architects (UIA), the Union of African Architects (UAA), the Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR), the Organisation of Arab Architects (OAA) and the National Council of the Order of Architects of Morocco have organised an international conference on “Architecture and Climate Change: Part 2.”

UIA-PHG COMPETITION
HEALTH CARE FACILITY OF THE FUTURE

The International Union of Architects Public Health Group (UIA-PHG), the Global University Program in Healthcare Architecture (GUPHA) and the China Hospital Construction Conference (CHCC) are accepting submissions for their newly launched competition, “Smart, Green & Beyond: Healthcare Facility of the Future”, which seeks to raise awareness about sustainability in the design of healthcare facilities.

UIA HYP CUP 2016 UNDER TSCHUMI'S GUIDANCE

The fifth edition of the UIA-HYP Cup 2016 International Student Competition in Architectural Design, launched by the School of Architecture of Tianjin University and the Chinese press group, Urban Environmental Design (UED) has been concluded.

The winning project for 2016 is “Love Village,” by Qui Yuxin and Zhao Yimeng, both students at China’s Tianjin University.
